The images below are from comic book work I have done either for personal interests or as part of a commissioned project. Please select a thumbnail to view the full image.
The grouped images here are part of the project "Scratch", which I am currently working on. The story, art, and lettering are all handled by myself. Created originally as an opportunity to draw more monster-based action, it grew quickly to become an exercise in the process of creating comic book art. What you see is a collection of learning experiences that have formed the backbone for an exciting self-contained story.
The grouped images here are part of the project "Baku", which I have plans to move forward with once I finish with Scratch. The story, art, and lettering are all handled by myself. Baku began as an attempt to stretch my writing techniques while leaning deep into the horror genre, of which I was a big fan. Leaning into the darker story elements allowed me to embrace a black-and-white aesthetic.
The images gathered here represent some of the work I've done independent of larger projects. As you can see, I've worked to adapt my art style to the story's specific needs, whether that be gritty black-and-white, colorful action, or cartoonishly abstract. While I tend to start my work traditionally, I obviously touch up the work using a blend of Photoshop and Illustrator. The exception being more simplistic cartoons that I often only do digitally.
